Animal Rights Activists Terrorize UC Berkley Professors

3peta.jpg The days of animal rights activists dressing up like bloodied chickens, running around in circles in front of KFC, and generally making asses of themselves is over. At least for professors at UC’s Berkeley Campus.

On July 8th several animal rights protesters dressed in hoods decided to become nuisances not on campus, but right in front of a toxicology professor’s home. Nine protestors decided to disturb a peaceful neighborhood by dressing in scarves and hoods like terrorists, and yelling insults through a bullhorn. One such protestor decided to resort violence by breaking a window. This is not an isolated incident, several researchers in fields like eyesight and the aging brain, who experiment on animals have reported having their homes attacked by firebombs and acid. To make matters worse moonbats like Dr. Jerry Vlasak of the terrorist organization the Animal Liberation Front says, “if you have to hurt somebody or intimidate them, or kill them” to protect an animal’s life, “it is morally justifiable.” Words that echo a certain bearded man that takes up residence in caves.

Well Mr. Vlasak, (you don’t deserve the title of doctor) actions such as these are not justifiable and hurt your cause more then help it. It is a violation of privacy to give out names, emails, and home addresses of researchers. Would you like it if Ted Nugent came by your house, broke windows, and sprayed you with a hose?

Now, I don’t have anything against animals (and neither does COED, kinda), but if it comes down to curing cancer or a rat, sorry human trumps vermin. These researchers are trying to better mankind and have made great strides due to animal experimentation. Sorry but its been proven. Protesting outside labs and on campus is a very American thing to do, but it is un-American to accost people outside their homes and vandalize them.

So, if you want to protest do it in a drum circle, but if you start attacking researchers homes then the neighborhood watch should take their hoses, set them to torrential downpour, and give you a bath. God knows you probably need one.

“UCLA’s Berkeley Campus” doesn’t make any sense!

it’s Berkeley so you have to assume stupidity right away.

Also, ‘Dr.’ Vlasak either forgot or is willfully ignoring, the fact that humans are also animals. So hurting a human is hurting an animal.

That ‘minor’ point aside, it is positively hilarious when people like this condone violence. My favorite are the ‘peace protesters’ here in LA who FIGHT the pro-war crowd when they get to close. Nothing says you hate violence like starting a big ole brawl.

    Idiots.

“The days of…is over?” First sentence establishes writer as person who is very careless or not very bright. Probably need an editor if you wanna’ score point.

I currently attend UC Berkeley’s pre-college academy and I am surprised to hear this. UC Berkeley is a school that believes in both human and animal rights alike and the professors seem to agree also. This is the first I heard of this and I’m sure if my fellow alumni saw this article they too would get upset. I don’t want anybody to get the wrong impression on the school because it is a great campus and the people there are incredibly friendly .

It should be “UC Berkeley’s” and not “UC’s Berkeley”, and I don’t understand how UCLA is tagged in this article…

Just a thought: breaking a window from outside the home could easily be legally construed as home invasion — particularly when coupled with verbal threats and or additional attacks like Molotov cocktails et al. — and California, as I seem to recall, not only allows justifiable homicide in defense of the home, but already has the highest JH rate in the nation. I by no means condone violence, but sooner or later nutjobs like this are going to force someone’s hand.

Gee jody rope, speaking of “wanna’ score point”, you might wanna check your own grammar. And Todd’s usage is correct; he’s referring to days as a time period, not individual days. Sorry nobody likes your PETA buddies jody.
