Quick Guide To Using NyQuil To Sleep

nyquil-photo-1 Having trouble falling asleep in the noisy dorms? Neighbors blasting the TV or stereo? Are your suite mates keeping you awake with loud moans and groans of sexual ecstasy?

Like it or not, students are turning to over-the-counter sleeping aides to escape the many late night dorm distractions. College kids are popping Tylenol PM like they are Tic-Tacs and downing death-red NyQuil like it’s cherry soda.

But as you might have guessed, it’s easy to overdo it. Taking the right number of NyQuil shots can mean the difference between a great night sleep and a NyQuil induced comma that will leave you sleeping through an entire week of classes.

While none of this is recommended by any professional anywhere, let’s be honest - professionals don’t have roommates, or finals. And they probably have a doctor friend who’s giving them something way more effective than over-the-counter cough syrup. So here’s a quick guide to taking Nyquil to get some shut-eye without F-ing up everything else. Read More »

Today’s Veteran’s Day. And we could think of no better way to honor those who have served our country with bravery and honor than by combining two of the greatest things in life: sexy chicks and heavy weaponry. We’re not sure what it is, but when a hot girl picks up a firearm, it gets the blood flowing faster than a machine gun burst. If you have a girlfriend, we suggest you go to your local gun store and pick her up a smokin’ hot new accessory. That is, if you can find one.

Polamalu Puts His Mouth Where His Money Is

Pittsburgh Steelers’ safety Troy Polamalu has publicly stood up for his teammates and fellow NFL colleagues about the ridiculous amount of fines that have been handed out to players since the Goodell Era began.  Since power junkie Roger Goodell took over the NFL before the 2006 season, he has cast a shadow over the game by developing fine and suspension penalties that are so strict that even a maximum security prison would be embarrassed to enforce them.

Goodell has taken America’s favorite sport and tried to squeeze the action and violence that people crave out of the game.  Goodell needs to understand that people tune into football every week to see the hits, catches, and trash-talking.  If they wanted to watch a game where you can’t celebrate after a touchdown or destroy a running back who’s trying to take the corner, they would have turned on golf. Polamalu finally called out the NFL and accused them of caring more about making money than they do about anything else. Read More »

David Ortiz Struggles for Boston in ALCS

Since trading Manny Ramirez to the Dodgers, there has been one man who has missed “Manny Being Manny” the most - David Ortiz.  Without Manny hitting behind him, Ortiz has regressed back to his normal mediocre
self and is no longer carrying the big stick as the folk hero he has become since going to Boston.

David Ortiz was nicknamed “Big Papi” for continually coming up big in clutch situations, especially during the postseason.  While many will argue that Ortiz has been the most valuable player of the The Post-Curse Era Red Sox, perhaps that is only because of the man with dreads and baggy pants that used to wear number-24. Florida Tail-Gators: Florida/LSU Weekend

COED was busy this past weekend with tons and tons of college-style drinkin’, having attended both the World’s Largest Flip Cup Tournament in NYC and the 100 Man Beer Bong tailgate party in Gainesville, FL, home of the University of Florida, for the LSU Tigers vs UF’s Gators.

First of all, the 100-man beer bong was freakin’ awesome! The pictures don’t do this crazy-ass contraption justice - but you can take our word for it that the sucker was nuts! Along with all the drinking fun were tons of hot Gator fans, sprucing up the atmosphere and making for the Gator’s victory of LSU that much better. Luckily for you, we remember to snap a few shots of the action for your viewing pleasure. Enjoy!

Ranger Prospect-Star Alex Cherepanov Dies - Former NY Star Jaromir Jagr To Blame?

On a day when the 4-0-0 New York Rangers should have been excitedly preparing for their cross-river rival New Jersey Devils, they were instead mourning the loss of one of the brightest lights in the future of their historic franchise. Monday night in Russia, the hockey world lost one of its top talents when Ranger prospect Alexei Cherepanov suffered an apparent heart attack during a game against Russin pro-team Avangard Omsk road-game.

The enigmatic 19-year old right winger had a brilliant future ahead of him, already rated as the top European talent in the 2007 draft, having already scored more points than Alexander Ovechkin and Evgeni Malkin during his first year in the Russian League. What stood out most about this young Russian-born skater was his superstar aura that emanated confidence, intelligence, competitiveness, and a respectable personality both on and off the ice. Old Man Garcia Gets It Done Again

The perfect prototypical quarterback is normally comprised of certain characteristics: a natural born leader, a player whose heart is his strongest muscle, and a tall powerful frame that commands a presence in the pocket.  Well, for Jeff Garcia, two out of three ain’t bad. But it’s his heart and leadership which have helped the 38-year old veteran prove that he can win time and again, no matter what city he calls home.

Once again, Garcia got the call for the Bucs this weekend after replacing the injured Brian Griese last week, and guided them to a big 27-3 win over division rival Carolina. The cerebral warrior under center was efficient and effective as he managed the game by completing 15 of his 20 passes for 173 yards and a touchdown. Read More »

Torre Won World Series His First Year in NY, Can He Do It Again in LA?

Twelve Years ago, Joe Torre became the manager of the New York Yankees and guided them to the pinnacle of the baseball world in only his first season at the helm.  When Charlie Hayes made the final out in Game 6 of the 1996 World Series, the Yankees won the world championship for the first time in 18 years. The One Buckeye Who Hates Pryor

If there’s one Ohio State student out there that hates Terrelle Pryor, it’s definitely Todd Boeckman.  Boeckman was the starting quarterback that led the Buckeyes back to the BCS National Championship Game last season and planned on returning to Columbus with his sights set on a return trip to the title game and more importantly, a first round selection in the upcoming NFL Draft.

Many believed the talented Boeckman could provide Ohio State with another stellar year behind center, and that his Draft stock would rise and force teams on the professional level to give him a serious look early on.

As a junior, he took over for Troy Smith and didn’t skip a beat.  He threw for nearly 2400 yards and 25 touchdowns while leading the young Bucks to a Big Ten title, an 11-1 regular season record, and a return trip to the title game.  He probably could have been drafted in the mid to later rounds, but decided to pass on leaving early after his first year as a starter knowing that most of his team would be back, and that they’d have a very reasonable shot at putting up big numbers and capturing the title that would propel him into the early rounds of the 2009 NFL Draft. Why They Yankees Are the Red Sox’s B*tches

Since the end of 2003, the Red Sox have won two World Series championships, while the Yankees haven’t even made a return trip. We all know about the 2004 Red Sox and their triumph over the Yanks, coming back in the ALCS after being down three-games to one. However, what is interesting to look at how things have changed since 2003 as a direct result of how the Red Sox talent evaluators have fared much better head to head against the once-mighty Yanks.

Let’s take a closer look. Read More »
