In her new movie, He’s Just Not That Into You, newlywed Scarlett Johansson strips down to nothing, jumps in a pool, and has a good ol’ time. But as our friends at Egotastic suppose, it’s probably not her, but that’s not going to stop us from dreaming.

Twenty-four hours prior to the most humiliating moment of my life, I was riding high–it was a good day in Afghanistan. My platoon were the first troops from the 82nd in country, and our operational pace had been nonstop for four months. I’d seen a lot things, but nothing could prepare me for what was about to happen.
Several high-ranking officers had been selected to go have a meet-and-greet, diplomatic-type lunch with the Afghan warlords that ran the area. They selected me to accompany them to lunch. At the time, I thought that I was some sort of super-trooper, asked to attend because I was the best my unit had to offer. As a PFC (Private First Class), I was probably just there to fill a seat and provide some added level of security. Read More »

From Wolfenstein 3-D to DOOM to today’s release of Enemy Territory: QUAKE Wars for the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3, id Software has been jacking-up the ante on first-person shooters like no other team in gaming. We were fortunate enough to get i.d. co-owner and lead game designer, Kevin Cloud on the phone to discuss the new release. Enjoy!
COED: Enemy Territory: QUAKE Wars is out today for Xbox 360 and PS3. What can we expect from the console versions?
Kevin Cloud: We’ve been working on the 360 and PS3 for almost two years now. Enemy Territory: Quake Wars, when we released it on the PC, we got a lot of editorial acclaim for it, if you’ll remember, a lot of awards and nominations, so there’s some really good gameplay in there.
It’s a really big game, a lot going on, so we wanted to make sure we got all of that in there. We got it running great, looking great, so we’ve achieved that. We had the design teams focusing on a each console to really make sure the game controls fit what players on that platform are accustom to, whether it’s shooting, driving, whatever. Read More »

According to Joblo.com, Quentin Tarantino announced at this year’s Canne Film Festival that his next film will be Inglorious Bastards, due to premier at Cannes in 2009. The film, which has been rumored about for over five years, is a war movie, inspired by 1977 Italian film Quel maledetto treno blindato, by director Enzo G. Castellari.
“The next movie I’m doing is my World War II movie,” Tarantino told a French TV host during a television show. “I just finished up the first draft, and if all goes well, I’ll be here, in Canne, in 2009 with Inglorious Bastards.”
Instead of a remake of the Castellari film, Inglorious Bastards will pay homage to a long list of Tarantino film favorites, including The Dirty Dozen and The Great Escape. Here’s to hoping this one comes out better than Grindhouse.
After his acclaimed performance in blockbuster Iron Man, Robert Downey Jr. has been scouted by Hugh Hefner to play the magazine mogul in an upcoming Playboy-creator biopic. According to PerezHilton.com, after seeing Iron Man, Hefner has put Downey to the top of the list of actors to portray him in the film.
From the article:
After Iron Man’s huge and unexpected success, RDJ is one of the hottest properties in town!
It’s not a 100 percent done deal, but sources say Hefner has signed off on Downey to play him in the movie, which has the working title Playboy.
Hef reportedly took a liking to Downey after seeing Iron Man and “admiring his humor and skill in showing his vulnerability.”
Other rumored leading men include Tom Cruise and Leonardo DiCaprio, and the film will be directed by Brett Ratner. And Ron Howard will serve as producer for the Universal Studios film.
With an authentic playboy with a debauchery-filled past in the leading spot, this promises to be F’ing rad.
There is something to be said for a film made for more than pure entertainment. I’ve always loved non-fiction, and therefore, I’ve long been a shamelessly flamboyant fan of the documentary. Since I find that a lot of people get lost in the whirlwind of Hollywood mainstream film, I’ve put together this list of documentaries you MUST check out.
DiG!
DiG! Captures 7 years, via intimate footage, of the bands The Dandy Warhols and The Brian Jonestown Massacre. It details their trials and triumphs and struggles and successes. More importantly, it provides for a real, first hand look of how difficult being in a band can actually be.
SPELLBOUND
Following eight teens who are on a mission to win a spelling bee, this movie introduces the viewers to the kids’ parents, their practice routines, and the generally weird world of competition spelling.
SHOT IN THE DARK
You may be a fan of Adrian Grenier, or you may not. Regardless, his documentary is amazing. It is about his quest to find his father, who he grew up without. It’s emotional and simultaneously intelligent.
JESUS CAMP
Even if you are religious and a firm believer in Christianity, particularly Pentecostal beliefs, you should still see this movie. It documents children who are away at ‘Jesus’ Camp. It’s intense, informative, and a total must see. Read More »
