Razzie Nominations are In

Lindsay Lohan

Who needs red-carpet bragathons like the Golden Globes and Oscars when the Razzies are around?

The 2008 Razzie nominations for the worst films and performances of the year have been announced, and it seems that playing multiple roles in terrible movies doubles your chances of bringing home the not-so-prestigious award.

Lindsay Lohan and Eddie Murphy both earned several nominations for their roles in I Know Who Killed Me and Norbit, respectively. Lohan played two roles in the murder mystery flop, each one worthy of major scrutiny. Murphy’s career choices, on the other hand, are mystifying: just one year after being nominated for an Academy Award for his performance in Dreamgirls, the fallen star gets a whopping five nominations for his multiple poor performances in Norbit.

Other notable nominations include Jim Carrey’s miscalculated turn in The Number 23, Jessica Alba’s trifecta a travesties (Good Luck Chuck, Awake and Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer); Cuba Gooding Jr.’s career-ending role in Daddy Day Care and the entire cast of I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry (Adam Sandler, Kevin James, Jessica Biel).

As always, the guys and gals that run the Razzies are spot-on with their picks. I think every nominee should be banished from making movies for at least a year (Murphy needs a decade off) and penalized half of their salary made off the flops. Wack kills, people.
