As the music industry scrambles to reconfigure their archaic business plans, bands and artists like Radiohead have been taking business into their own hands, and releasing records via their Website, for free.
To add another notch into the “screw you” category, Trent Reznor of Nine Inch Nails just released his new record, “The Slip,” 100-percent free from NIN.com. Included is the song in a variety of formats, from MP3 to 24/96 WAVE, plus all album arwork in PDF form. All you need is an email address.
For those of you who prefer a physical record and artwork, etc, “The Slip” will be released on CD and vinyl in July.
