Apple announced today that HBO shows, including “The Sopranos” “Sex and The City” and “Deadwood” will now be available for download, via iTunes.

Episodes will cost from $1.99 for older or less-watched titles like “The Wire” and “Flight of the Concords,” and $2.99 for their higher profile shows, like “Rome,” “The Sopranos” and “Deadwood.”

From the press release:

“We’re very excited to make these legendary HBO programs available on the iTunes Store,” said Henry McGee, president of HBO Video. “Whether catching up on ‘Sex and the City’ in anticipation of its upcoming movie release or reliving a favorite ‘Sopranos’ episode, we think viewers will love being able to watch these shows on their iPod or iPhone.”

“We’re thrilled to bring this incredible lineup of programming from HBO to the iTunes Store,” said Eddy Cue, Apple’s vice president of iTunes. “These are some of the most talked about television shows ever, as well as some of the most requested by our customers.”

All episodes will be playable on any video-enabled iPod, iPod Touch, iPhone, Apple TV, or just your Mac or PC. If your 2-inch screen won’t cut it, pick up an Apple TV to watch the episodes in all their wide-screen glory. Either that, or you could just watch HBO on your television. You know, just an idea.
