There’s been much hubbub recently over the “Obama pound”–namely that old people don’t know what the f**k a “pound” is–or at least couldn’t name it if they saw it. The now wide-spread picture (above) of presumptive Democratic nominee for President, Sen. Barack Obama and his wife, Michelle on stage at Tuesday night’s victory speech has the media spinning on their heads. But what does it really mean?
Check out MSNBC’s “Obama pound” video after the jump!
You know, some people might find this whole thing ridiculous. But I think this is what they mean when they say people “connect with a candidate.”
Until now, I’ve never “connected” with any politician. Most of them could be my grandparent. Obama’s only a little older than some of my siblings.
The fact that he even knows what a pound is (thank you Reggie Love) seems astonishing. Maybe McCain can start break dancing. (I hear you can do crazy windmills with a fake hip.)

Did they just refer the ‘pound’ as being romantic? What the? Making out with your wife in front of millions is one thing. But giving a ‘pound’ in front of millions is far from romantic in my eyes. I see it as more of a being in tune with what the younger generation does. I mean the ‘pound’ has been around for how long? I don’t even know. Obama and his wife ‘pound’, and it’s head line news! I mean don’t get me wrong, I am pro Obama, I just think it’s funny.
I don’t think it’s romantic…I think it’s F@%#ing RAD as HELL!!!!!
It’s called giving “dap.” It means solidarity or in agreeance.
Leave it to nigs to think they’re better than every other race, they all just want attention, can’t wait for this world to be over.
