Getting ready to throw yourself back into that world of dorming? And do you care about the environment? Well, good luck. Being green, in some dorms, is pretty freakin’ hard. Recycling bins are nowhere to be found, resources are being wasted left and right and most of the kids around you don’t care.
That doesn’t mean you have to throw in the non-recyclable towel. There are so many things you can do to reduce your carbon footprint and give back to Mother Earth. Here are some tips to help the planet and inspire your peers to do the same:
1. Skip the single serving snack-packs. Get a big bag and make your own single-serving portion in a small plastic bag when you’re on the go. Wash the bag out when you’re done and do it again the next time. It’s that easy.
2. Chill out with the AC. Tons of college students keep their AC’s running just because they can. That’s not cool! (Note: yes, the pun was intended.) Don’t act like a monkey when it comes to the environment. Leaving your AC running while you’re out hurts the planet regardless of whether or not you’re paying the bill. Read More »

In our endless search for maximum comfort, man has gone to great lengths to feel at home, whether on the road or in air. A moment away from our mobile devices makes us irritable; JetBlue knows this and is planning to keep us connected.
The Wall Street Journal reported today that JetBlue will begin a trial run with free in-flight Wi-Fi for passengers aboard selected planes starting December 11. Yahoo and Research In Motion Ltd. are the supported formats thus far, meaning that browsing will be limited to email and IMs.
Still, it’s better than nothing for tech-types that need their quick fix. Read More »

Meebo is a nifty website that allows you to sign on and chat using multiple messaging services like AIM, MSN Messenger, Google Talk and others.
Basically, this means you can go on AOL Instant Messenger without having to download the full software. It’s quite useful when you’re at the computer lab getting the itch to chat but downloading AIM software isn’t possible because damn IT has is blocked.
Meebo is similar to AIM Express in that you sign on via a website but it has many more tools, it’s easier on the eyes and the sign on process is much quicker.
The process to get started on Meebo is insanely easy – just visit meebo.com, pick which chat service you want to use, type in username/password and go to town.

Ah, dorm life. What a beautiful time.
The shower shoes, the sloppy Friday nights, the obnoxious girls down the hall that think it’s cute to blast LFO’s “Summer Girls for the whole building to hear. It’s such an important era in your four years of fabulous.
So what do you do when you’re stuck with an anal RA whose mistaken his handbook of proper conduct as an FBI badge? Well throw a bangin’ dorm pregame, duh!
There’s definitely certain factors that make for a successful in-dorm pregame, and here we’ve mapped them out for you. No need to thank me, I find it my duty as a wise college sophomore. (Haha) Read More »

I heard you were a fan of rejection. No? Didn’t think so. So like the rest of the male population, this probably means that if you ask a girl out and get denied faster than MC Hammer’s credit cards, you might feel pretty crappy. But unless you’ve used the worst pick-up line ever, the rejection may not be your fault. Think hormones, for instance. Or one of these factors that might have nothing to do with you:
She’s Off-the-Market
Hopefully, she’ll just say right away that she has a boyfriend, just to save you some time and humiliation. That’s if she’s nice. Otherwise, she’ll probably manipulate you. After all, she can have sex whenever she wants just by snapping her fingers. Can you? Read More »
