Latest Steroid Scandal Includes 50 Cent, Timbaland and…Mary J. Blige?

Mary J Blige steroidsIt’s pretty obvious that 50 Cent and Timbaland have most likely dabbled in various “performance-enhancing” drugs - but R&B singer Mary J. Blige? What good could possibly come out of Blige taking ‘roids?

I’m baffled…and intrigued!

The Times Union reported that Blige and the other celebs in question used fake names to order and pick up prescriptions in Florida from Dr. Gary Brandwein, who was tied to the steroid scandal involving deceased WWF wrestler Chris Benoit.

Wyclef Jean and Tyler Perry have also been named as steroid users in the article, but who cares? I can’t get over Mary J. “Not Gon’ Cry” Blige. Seriously: if it’s true I’ll be floored and very confused. Couldn’t she just take coke and pills like any other maladjusted superstar?

Nothing confuses me more than singers like Blige (and Whitney Houston too, for that matter) that release these inspirational songs that middle-aged moms go nuts over, just to debunk their own myth by plummeting deep into drugs, depression and overall indecency.

It’s a funny world we live in, folks.

Chris Benoit is just another statistic in an alarming new trend

Yeah, yeah by now we all know that Chris Benoit was an enormous psycho. The guys smothered his 7 year old son for cryin’ out loud. Not to take away from the horrible tragity but the death rate among pro wrestlers is an emerging trend that is quite alarming. Eric Cohen from About.com explores wrestling “Dirty Little Secret” the death rate among pro wrestlers.

Cohen blames the trend on steroid use, large bodies, accidents and the culmination of all these factors in their “old” age. Cohen then goes on to list what looks to be 100+ names of WWF/WWE superstars that have died before the age of 65 from 1985 - present. While everyone is analysing why Benoit flew off his hinges it is also important to look at Cohens article and the blairing statistics.
