and former Massachusetts Governor, Mitt
Romney as Vice President, in his bid for the

New York Mets Fire Willie Randolph… Still Suck

Mets Fire Willie Randolph

For weeks, New York Mets fans have speculated how long management would leave Willie Randolph at the helm of their sub-.500 ball club.

Early this morning they brought the hammer down on Willie. “Pitching coach Rick Peterson and first base coach Tom Nieto also were cut loose in an enormous overhaul that was revealed in a fact-of-the-matter news release at a stunning time — about 12:15 a.m. PDT, nearly two hours after New York’s 9-6 victory over the Los Angeles Angels,” reports SI.

“Bench coach Jerry Manuel takes over on an interim basis for Randolph… Ken Oberkfell, the club’s manager at Triple-A New Orleans, and Dan Warthen, pitching coach for the Zephyrs, will join the major league staff along with Luis Aguayo, a Mets field coordinator.”

EuroCup: International Soccer Crash Course

euro2008_logo1.jpgOk, here’s the deal. Ever since putting together COED Presents: The 50 Sexiest WAGs of World Soccer, we’ve been getting really into soccer, trying to figure it all out.  Sunday night, I went to the US vs Argentina match at Giant Stadium  and it was one of the best sports experiences of our lives. The intense rivalry between nations, 79,000 people chanting in unison for their team and against yours–it was an experience you just don’t get with American football.

The 2008 EuroCup kicked off on Saturday and needless to say, I’ve been glued to the TV. I’ve  also been doing extensive research trying to give myself a crash course to get up to speed on international soccer.

So to get us all up to speed, here’s all the best Sites to check out for a full-blown crash course on international soccer! (Don’t worry, there’s a few babes in there, too…) Read More »

Real Fight Club–In Silicon Valley

fight-club.jpg

Wow. Apparently, life really does become meaningless when you’re at the top of your game, you’ve got the house, car, wife, kids and whatever the f*ck else you want. None of that means sh*t compared to the free gift of pain–or so says these Silicon Valley desk-jockeys, who’ve set up their own “fight club,” in an attempt to return to the roots of Man.

22 Baseball Videos That Should Be On SportsCenter

baseball videos

Spring training is in full swing, with the MLB regular season right around the corner.

My fantasy baseball draft is tomorrow night, and it got me thinking, what better way to commemorate the new season then with the most unorthodox baseball videos on the net? We see SportsCenter highlights all the time, but now it’s due time to give credit to the video we won’t be seeing on the prime time highlights. These are videos only the internet could love. Brett Favre to Retire After 17 Years

brett-farve-retired.jpg

Brett Favre has ended the speculation. Sports Illustrated is reporting that Favre has decided to retire after having what could be considered a “career year,” in which he broke several NFL records.

FOX Sports first reported Tuesday that the Green Bay Packers quarterback informed the team in the last few days. ESPN.com said that according to Favre’s agent the quarterback told coach Mike McCarthy of his decision.

Don’t be surprised in you go to the bars tonight and see several men drowning their overwhelming sadness over pints of Old Milwaukee.

Will Ferrell Beats Bill Walton in H.O.R.S.E.

will bill

Will Ferrell showed off the basketball skills he learned as Jackie Moon on the set of Semi-Pro when he faced basketball legend Bill Walton in a game of H.O.R.S.E.

Ferrell hit 3 shots in a row to jump out to a quick H.O.R. lead. Then he sunk an impossible, behind the glass, Larry Bird inspired shot to go up H.O.R.S.

ESPN never actually shows the outcome of the match but we can assume that with an H.O.R.S. lead a cruising Farrell quickly put the nail in Walton’s coffin.
