Every two years the best golfers from the United States and Europe compete in a three day competition for the coveted Ryder Cup. This year’s American team boasts six rookies to the squad making the United States an underdog for the first time. Here are a few reasons why the United States will prevail over the Europeans at Valhalla: Read More »

The experts who have helped establish a global reliance on oil and wasted billions of dollars trying to turn corn into gas, have now turned their attention to nature’s biggest natural power generators. Volcanoes and hot springs could supply up to 25-percent of America’s power needs–and as fuel prices soar, Alaskan officials announced the exploration of the state’s volcanoes.
Companies are being invited to lease the rights to explore geothermal resources beneath Mount Spurr, a snowcapped 11,070-foot volcano that most recently erupted in 1992, showering much of Anchorage with volcanic ash. The state Division of Oil and Gas hopes the lease sale, due to go ahead in August, will be the first of many. It is also considering allowing exploration of the 4,134-foot Augustine Volcano, 171 miles southwest of Anchorage. Read More »

Architects revealed today the world’s first 80-story, shape-shifting skyscraper, dubbed ‘Dynamic Tower,’ which is scheduled to be completed in Dubai by 2010.
Each floor of the soon-to-be-built luxury apartment building rotates a full 360-degrees, completely independent from the other floors, powered by massive wind turbines located between each floor. Because of this, the building constantly changes shape, depending on the whims of its inhabitants.

Panic at the Disco have made quite a name for themselves in not a lot of time. Their first album, A Fever You Can’t Sweat Out, went double platinum. Before they were even 20-years-old, the guys were blowing up the stage at the MTV Video Music Awards. And now, three years later, Panic (no more exclamation point) at the Disco is touring the world with Pretty. Odd., their wildly successful new album.
COED got to sit down with Jon Walker, Panic’s badass bassist, to find out the secrets behind the music, how the band is handling all the success and just what a group of guys does on a giant tour bus. (Hint: It’s more fun that you’re having right now.)
Check out the full Panic at the Disco interview after the jump! Read More »

Ok, here’s the deal. Ever since putting together COED Presents: The 50 Sexiest WAGs of World Soccer, we’ve been getting really into soccer, trying to figure it all out. Sunday night, I went to the US vs Argentina match at Giant Stadium and it was one of the best sports experiences of our lives. The intense rivalry between nations, 79,000 people chanting in unison for their team and against yours–it was an experience you just don’t get with American football.
The 2008 EuroCup kicked off on Saturday and needless to say, I’ve been glued to the TV. I’ve also been doing extensive research trying to give myself a crash course to get up to speed on international soccer.
So to get us all up to speed, here’s all the best Sites to check out for a full-blown crash course on international soccer! (Don’t worry, there’s a few babes in there, too…) Read More »

Living near one of the largest beach cultures in the world, I have been struggling to come to grips with what the appropriate beach attire would be for me. The surf culture here in Southern California suggests a young male like myself should wear some board shorts because apparently they make surfing so much easier. I do not know the scientific proof behind that last statement but considering every ‘dude’ in this geographic region wears them, it has to be true. However, I do not surf, nor do I have any desire to learn, so where is my place on the beach? To answer this, we must take a trip across the Atlantic, and onto the sandy, nude beaches of Europe.
Whereas most European males in my experience have adorned banana slingers to the beach, the classier ones have chosen to take the man bathing suit path. These mansuits are akin to the ones you wore as an elementary schooler, falling slightly above the knee and they tend be one solid color. When shopping for mansuits, think Mitch Buchanan a.k.a. David Hasselhoff from Baywatch. Rest assured though that these bathing suits will not make you a crumbling alcoholic, laying on your floor eating a hamburger and cursing out your children. Therefore, if you want to stand out at the beach without looking like an Eastern European tourist or looking like , pick up a pair of mansuits and show all those longboarders whose boss.
