The Ferrari Enzo - currently the most powerful production car on earth, with a limited production of 399. Retail price: $1.3 million dollars.
So, what happens when you drive a car valued at $1.3 million that is known to reach speeds of 200mph (20mph faster than the take off speed of a Boeing 747)? You drive EXTREMELY CAREFULLY…or face the obvious consequences.
The following pictures are horrifying for the drivers who wrecked their Enzos, but so very entertaining for us commoners that laugh at rich people wrecking their precious toys.
Whatever - their tears probably contain little flakes of gold.

check that - by the looks of the 1st wreck the driver probably died so I guess thats kinda sad
Actually, there’s a good chance the driver survived. The tub looks sufficiently intact. On the other hand, if the dude wasn’t wearing a helmet, shame on ‘im! It sucks when you run out of room, road, and talent . . . all at the same time. If you don’t know how do race, don’t drive fast.
The first picture was taken of a car that was destroyed while the driver was participating in a charity event. He was trying to get a “speeding ticket” where the price would go towards some disease research. He rolled his car going 209 MPH and barely lived through the crash. He wrote a great article about his accident in car and driver. This event happened in Utah.
The second one was in California and was driven by the former owner of Gizmondo. I believe the car was stolen from england too.
The driver definently didn’t die as long as his seatbelt was on. The cockpit is nearly undamaged.
All this while the rest of us sell grannies gold teeth to get a gallon of gas . . .
The enzo is not the fastest, most powerful, or even most expensive car being made. The most expensive would be a special edition Bugatti Veyron (if u only count production cars), the fastest is the Aero SCC Twin Turbo, most powerful is who knows, Koenecksigg will be up there with them too.
not convinced by your aero ssc twin turbo answer, 254 i believe, if we are being that lax about what counts as a production car what about the daur 962, or possibly the sledgehammer corvette.
and who cares about outright top speed anyway, anything north of about 200 is pretty pointless, now the ultima gtr 720 fastest road legal 0-100-0 car on the planet and yours for about£70k ($140k ish)
as for most powerful, well there are a few the far side of 1000bhp, the bristol fighter r is a fun one
Bugatti Veyron is the most powerful production car at 1003hp and a top speed of 253mph… great way to start the article
